Being that Branch For Jesus
John 15 is such a revolutionary chapter. One of my absolute favorites in the bible. It amazes me every time I read it. I always seem to learn something new. “Is it just me, or does this happen to others as well?” I just love how Jesus talks to his disciples about staying connected to him and simply what it means. In verses 1-5 Jesus explains to the disciples the meaning of the vine, the vinedresser, and the branches. Jesus explains to them that we are the branches that must stay connected to the vine. In other words, we are Christ followers. We have to walk and live a righteous life, by following and living like Jesus; with the help of the holy spirit guiding us. But all of this takes time and discipline. In order for us to walk in the narrow path we must stay connected to the father, the son, and the holy spirit. The way we do this is by studying our word, praying to the lord daily, developing qualities that are fruitful, and believing that we can do and have all things. FAITH is the key, we have to trust in the Lord and what the bible teaches, we cannot doubt the father. We have to believe in the bible teachings more than anything in this world. Developing faith takes time, but it will happen as we continue to seek God’s presence. We have to talk to the lord and allow him to be a part of our lives, every single bit of it. We have to seek God’s face and want to get to know him simply because he is our father. We have to WANT to build a deep UNBREAKABLE bond with God. We must decide with everything in us that God is God and we trust him. Furthermore, if we want to spiritually grow as believers in Christ we have to keep God close to us, seek him daily and follow in the Holy Spirits leading. But most of all, we have to be obedient. This is key in staying connected to the vine. God’s love for us is sooooooo deep that it sometimes can be hard to understand. But what’s vital for us to understand is that God is love, simply. His love for us is unconditional, he has no limits to how much love he gives us. When I think about the amount of love God has for us, my heart begins to feel overwhelmed with joy. I am so thankful for God. He has taught me what loves truly means and how to love myself and others. His word continually keeps me from making wrong choices and I truly appreciate that. The lord wants us to bear much fruit—meaning doing good to others, living a life full of love, joy, peace, and overall happiness (2peter 1:5-9). We must love one another as God loves us. Sometimes this can be difficult, but it’s very possible. Because we can do all things through Christ, we have the strength to accomplish all good things. So, as we dwell in the vine, God prunes out all things that isn’t good, meaning God can change every wrong thing in us. He wants to use us for his glorious purpose. We have the ability to live a life like Jesus, but it takes time and hard work. The amazing benefits we obtain from living a righteous life is all I feel we need. I don’t know what I would do without PEACE. I thank the father every day for the peace that he has bestowed upon my life. What God has revealed to me is that he wants us to live and have joyfulness, and more so a peaceful life, but we have to first seek him. These are qualities we all want, but it takes first getting to know him for yourself. It takes trust and belief in what he tells you, and most importantly taking heed to his directions. We have to keep our fire for God more than anything in this world, because his love for us is PERFECT! The more we put our trust in Jesus, the more we receive. Having happiness and peace are the best gifts God has given me, and I am so grateful. But just as he has given them to me, he can do the same for you. GOD IS AMAZING!!!!!
